Almost May? Already?

Howdy friends in xanga land! It has been a l..o..n..g.. time since my last entry, I know... suffice it to say, so many things happen in life that you never think will happen to you.

Like for one, I no longer live in Texas. Guess I'll have to eventually change my Xanga name, but my heart is still there. Two, you young mothers who LOVE being a keeper at home, like myself....enjoy it while you can, for someday you may be thrown a curve ball that throws YOU out of the game!

Here I sit at the library's computer for I no longer have access to internet at home, with 30 minutes to catch up and do what I have to do. So, I thought I'd tell my friends, and those of you that I love to read about, that I MISS YOU!

Don't have time to change my look, sorry. Maybe next time.

What? Still HERE?

I can't beleive it's been almost a month since my last entry! A few weeks ago, I wrote to a few people and told them I'd be offline for a while, pending a move.

We are still in the same house, waiting for everything to work out. We have signed a contract for a home, and the closing date is December 21st. There are a few things that still need to be worked out, however, I'm beginning to wonder whether we will be getting our own home, or not.

Since this will be our first home loan, we went into this pretty ignorantly. We were charged fees that were not supposed to be charged and then our lender wanted us to fit into this tiny little box that he created for us. We wanted to buy a property that had 22 acres and a little house with big rooms, and an unfinished bathroom (just the tub or shower needed to be installed) but he wouldn't hear of it. Said that would be too much paper work and too many loops to jump through(because he thought we wanted extra money for finishing the bathroom, and he wouldn't listen to us that we would take care of that without a loan). Whatever. So we lost that opportunity. It was removed from the market shortly thereafter. We had a brand new mobile home picked out and were looking for a little bit of acreage to put it on, and he said, in no way would he give us a loan for a mobile home. On and on it went...Now mind you, we are living in the parsonage still, when we were already supposed to be out, last month. Thankfully, the board has allowed us to stay, but I fear we might be pressing our stay.

So, after receiving advice from another lender, a bank loan officer, we dropped that guy like a hot potato. Unfortunately, it was after he'd received a check from us. So far, our new loan officer has received no money, and she will not receive any until closing. Like it should be. Now the only money we have spent is that which is necessary to secure the contract and title.

Now that we have a place picked out, the sellers agent is dragging her feet and doing the job inadequately, ie, skipping parts in the contract...since we are doing everything by email and fax, those documents are bouncing back and forth because of the oversite.

Hopefully, and Lord willing, we will be moving soon! We have anything extra that is not neccessary to our everyday life, packed in boxes in each room. That includes most books, music and entertainment CD's, toys, knick-knacks, pictures, etc, etc...

I will not post anything about this home until we are living there, in case we don't go through with the contract for whatever reason. But after that, I will post pictures and tell all about it. I am excited but trying to reign in that excitement for the time being.

Until next time...

My First Tag!!! I'm Soooo Excited!

I've Been Tagged

The rules:
1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people (or less if everyone else you know has already been tagged!) to get tagged and list their names.
4. Dont forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

1) I count out of boredom and to relax myself. I count my fingers, I count wall panels, celing tiles, floor tiles, those yellow lines that separate which side of the road to drive on (when I'm the passenger), the lines on a clock face (digital only), and so on...
2) I drink flavored coffee. My favorite brand is Millstone. My favorite flavors are the Christmas flavors, pumkin and peppermint. (When I pass Starbucks my car veers toward it automatically. Honest! No kidding!)
3) I am half Mexican though I look totally Irish. Red hair and freckles even.
4) I like keeping up with politics.
5) I frown when sewing and reading.
6) I have a habit of looking directly at one of my ornery kids when they are stealing my glasses off my head and I don't even realize they are doing it, IF I am talking with company.
7) My daughter said I have a habit of checking email 100 times/day, haha.
8) I like to be first to the mailbox.

Need Participants In a Yahoo Group

Fellow blogger homekeeper31 started a yahoo group called "creativekeeperscommunity" that is a book reading and discussion group. She is the owner and I am the moderator. We are looking for those interested in participating in the discussion group. However, this will not be a platform to discuss theology or differing religious opinions, just to keep harmony between believers. Every participant should respect the beliefs of others and only comment on the reading materials selected for discussion.

Today we begin our discussion on the first chapter of the book "Mother At Home" by John S.C. Abbott. I have put together a downloadable ebook for this purpose. You may purchase your copy here "Mother At Home" PDF  for only $2

Read the guidelines of our discussion group below:

"This is a group designed for ladies who believe in keeping the home as described in Proverbs 31 and Titus 2 and who want to learn more about God's design for us as Christian women. We will choose a different book each month (or so) to read and discuss. The books will be along the lines of women's issues such as marriage, parenting, housekeeping, cooking, home businesses and homeschooling but will be kept to the Biblical perspective at all times as that is the best Book of all. This is also a place for writers to share their own works and sell those they've already published. We encourage any type of creativity and if you have a home business, you may share your products or services with us. If this sounds like something you would love, join the community!"
